Tohre Dil Ka Thaeter Maa, Dil Deewana Boooooking Advance Maange Re...

-------------------

(Copyright of this picture to whoever it belongs to, seriously, I have no idea how these things work. It didn't say (c) Somebody, Year when I found it, though, so hopefully I'm safe.)

In a post that will spark heated debate (or so I wish... hah!) I admit: I liked Tashan. Enjoyed it, in fact. Someone give Vijay Krishna Acharya (what a name, man) an award for trying something so different and playing around with 3 languages so much!

Okay, so it's improbable, it's silly at times. But that, my friend, is what holds true for every Hindi movie. What's important is that this one was fun! Whether it's Anil Kapoor (with his sidekicks) going "Preence Charlieeeeeeeeee!!" or Akshay Kumar blubbering when embarrassed, it's all quite hilarious.

Sample these, after all...
"What doings? Eating rabdi malai?"

"Saving your jhindagi... yours affectionately, bhaiyyaji."

"Aadmi haraami... par Ingleeeeeesh!!"

Also, very nice touches here and there, like Anil Kapoor at the end muttering "Lots happy, you..." It's all quirky and funny, and I found myself wondering why people hated it so much. Go watch it. Oh well, it's almost out of theatres now. Watch it when it's on TV, then.

The next thing from the YashRaj stables is something called Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (eww) that looks like a rehash of every YRF movie. What I don't get is how their stars and locations manage to look exactly the same in almost every movie. It's as if they're Chinese or something!

Oh, is it just my imagination, or does Blogspot have some of the ugliest templates on this planet? Why, lord, why is Wordpress so pretty?! :(

Lots happy, you are...haha...i was laughing like a retard thinking to myself..isnt it KHUSH TO BAHOT HOGE TUM...haha...
and ya saving youre jindagi...yours affectionately bhaiyyaji...haha...
but i must admit kareena kapoor was shit in the movie...SHIT...thats not even the word...ATROCIOUS...UNBEARABLY TRASHY...my god..she looks inspiringly fit...maybe anorexic even...but yeah SUPER full of SHIT...
akshay kapoor..i dont know what it is about him...from the times of overgrown chest hair and super bushy eyebrows to now almost shaved head sexy stuble and shavbed chest...he just looks superfit...like he has copyright for the phrase tall, dark and handsome...
anil kapoor...lurveeee him...
somehow saif didnt quite work for me..though i must admit his look in the movie is the style i absolutely adore...all white and a red belt...subtle yet making a bloody hot statement...
ok before i make youre comment box into a fashion review...
to be honest like i told you earlier...i didnt LOVE the film...there was a sense of novelty and also a HYPE..which i wasnt happy to see YASH RAJ didnt live upto...from close and reliable YRF resources i hear that the reason why they didnt really promote it here in uk was coz they didnt think it wouldnt work...
ok what the hell...sorry mudra besides the first few lines i havent really commented on what youve written..lol...
but yeah do agree it has really nice touches..;
and as much as THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC looks like the usual YRF flicks i am eagerly waiting to watch it...
keep writing babe...
just thoguht of you today...was watching smallville and this character chloe reminds me of you...shes a part of the high school torch the journalism team or something...
my god i am just writing absolute nonsensE...lol...

Haven't seen it yet (and for a good reason) so can't comment. But lately I have started liking the kind of movies that appeal to teenagers and undergrads, like Superbad, Knocked Up etc.
I have realized that there is no point in trying/faking to appreciate arty movies.

Call me kookoo but I just can't think of watchin Tashan. I believe you though, entertainment et al. Happy to you. I must admit, however, the song has a 10/10 from me. Takes genius to come up with 'sky ke jaisan blue blue tohra nain saraabi' Amen to that!
Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic stinks of YashRaj BS, all over again. It'll flop. Yea, it will. I wanna watch JTYJN though. Wonder why Pappu just doesn't start taking dance classes.
Fret not. Customise blogger. Majaa ni life.

Cheers. Keedas. Peace.
PS: Watch Mithya. Ranvir Shorey. Love him, for abstract reasons. You too, yesno?

@peru: Yep. Ranvir Shorey = cute. Him and Konkona = very nice couple. :)

Tashan, is one of the boldest and the most eccentric movies I've seen in my lifetime. Unfortunately, the intended mindlessness of the movie didn't work with the junta much like the poetic brilliance of Saawariya. The humour was insane and the Akshay-Kareena angle was a masterstroke. I like the rustic wit, the flamboyant use of colours, the melange of languages and accents and the ridiculous (and ironically poetic) lyrics of the songs. Infact Dil Haara is one of my current favourites - the musical arrangement backed by the vagabondish lyrics are a treat. Anyway, we belong to the miniscule, almost irrelevant group (did i write group?) of people who have enjoyed Tashan. Hopefully, your blog will help create a revolution and years down the line when cheap, crass, nonsensical, irreverent cinema is in vogue - we will call ourselves The Pioneers. Till then, the good byes!

i thought tashan was a nice attempt at being different. But kareena kapoor was still happily, reliably bad. God, i love hating her... [:D]

Yes, wordpress has some nice, easy-on-eye templates, but i understand there is no provision for custom templates... this true?
